Oban, on the west coast of Scotland, is probably the most under-sold destination in Scotland. It is truly fabulous, being on the coast with a whole host of Islands lying offshore, just makes it truly magical.

Your first view of Oban is truly unforgettable. From the north, you glimpse the fabulous view from the top of the “Bealach-an-Righ”. As you come down the hill towards the expanse of the bay, the view opens up before you and it becomes clear why it is so easy to appreciate why Oban is loved by so many who know its secrets.

Oban today has a resident population of 8,500 and is the  “Gateway to the Isles”. It provides easy access to all the nearby islands, on the west coast including all the Inner and Outer Hebrides. There are spectacular panoramic views of the mountains, lochs and islands which have captivated artists, authors, composers, and poets through the centuries.

Oban has a wide selection of excellent restaurants with seafood a specialty, a good variety of shops and many attractions to enjoy. Oban has an uncanny way of bringing out the romantic and mystical side of its visitors. With mists that roll in and the gentle pitter-patter of the evening rain, it truly is a spiritual and special place.
